Denver 2010

We headed out to Denver in late March for the first leg of the Smith Family Adventures 2010. We hadn't been back for a visit since Brody was five weeks old, so we were long overdue! And now that Brad's brother, Andrew, and his family live out there, we had no excuse to wait any longer. It was a great trip, and we had lots of fun! Brody and Leyton absolutely loved their cousins Ansel and Isabel. From the second we arrived, it was nonstop fun with the cousins. Brad and I enjoyed getting back to the place where we first began our life together right after getting married. We have so many places that we love and wanted to visit, but there just wasn't enough time. We did get a chance to enjoy a yummy treat at Bonnie Brae Ice Cream in our old neighborhood, but we were surprised and a little sad to discover that our first house is no longer there. It has been replaced by a mini-mansion, along with most of the other homes on the block. Crazy how things change!

RIP 1143 South St. Paul. We'll never forget you!

Along with visiting our family, we were also lucky enough to get a chance to have brunch with our very dear friends and meet all their little ones. It's amazing how things have changed so much--there were babies and toddlers everywhere! I also got a chance to go out with the girls for dinner and Brad went skiing in Winter Park with our friend Brian. Add in a trip to the Denver Zoo, shopping in Boulder, and the Museum of Natural History, and we had an action-packed adventure in a very short time. We hoped to escape without seeing any white stuff, but boy, did it dump on us during our last day!! In fact, it was such a mess that we missed our flight to San Francisco...but that's another post! Here are some pics!

Brody and Leyton with my dear friend Erin's baby boy, Alex. This was right before Leyton decided to take a chunk out of his little cheek. Poor guy!

Leyton and Ansel playing around in Boulder

Brody learned to wrestle with his cousin, and it lasted for three straight days!

Leyton loves the rocks!

Brody was fascinated by the Komodo Dragon at the Denver Zoo.

We're checking out the big ole crocodile.

Auntie Jill made a popcorn snack, and the kids loved it!

Uncle Andrew brought home cupcakes for Brad's birthday! Izzy watches as he blows out his candle!

Yummy birthday treats!
