This year you are enjoying preschool at the Berry Patch. You have grown so much in the past six months, and we watch in amazement as you will sit and color or do artwork/projects for much longer periods of time. You work hard to keep your coloring in the lines, and you are super proud to show us your work. We don't hear much about your classmates except for your buddy Harper! He has definitely made a big impact on you. :) The other name we hear at home all the time is Bennett--Bennett this and Bennett that! He is one of your buddies from Mom's Morning, and you adore him. It is really fun to watch you developing friendships!
Your favorite things to do right now are to play/watch Backyardigans (you love Pablo and Tyrone,) ninjas and ninja turtles, magna-tiles, and superheroes. You are fast as lightning, and you really haven't stopped running since you learned to walk. You love hockey and are showing lots of interest in playing, but you didn't love your ice skating lessons this fall. We will try again soon! You are swimming each Friday and improving your skills rapidly. Just this summer you were afraid to get your face wet, and now you are a little fish!
You are definitely my "bolter." Just as you like to run from place to place, you also like to take off and make me catch you. This is endlessly tiring and frustrating for mama, but I must say that you are getting better. Hopefully that will be a distant memory before long. :)
Callan, you love your siblings with all your heart, and I love to watch you interact with each of them. You really look up to Brody and want to be just like him. Many days you tell me that you can't wait for Brody to come home from school so you can play with him. You play best with Leyton, but you also fight best with him! And boy, do you guys fight! Sometimes I feel like I need to put you in separate rooms just to have peace and quiet. The other day, Leyton was having a hard time and I told him I was going to ship him off to the Sanchez family (the made up family where we send naughty kids :). He decided to play along, so he found a big box and climbed in with his pillow pet, closing the flaps behind him. You immediately burst into tears and exclaimed that you wanted Leyton to stay here! It was so very sweet and so very YOU! Even though he hurts you and makes you cry often, you still love him so much. What a sweet brother you are! You've recently discovered what fun Emmeline can be, and now you love to cozy up with her and make her smile. You're pretty irresistible, so it doesn't take long for her to break out in a happy grin.
Overall, you are just a happy-go-lucky little guy, wonderfully curious about your world and active and playful as can be. You bring us endless joy, and we adore you!
