Happy Halloween From Our Family to Yours!!
Boy, do I love Halloween, and I am fairly certain all other members of my family heartily agree. When we start seeing the first pumpkins on display in stores and we take out that tub of decorations from the basement, we all get excited and start looking forward to the big night! I love the crisp, cool air, the crunchy colored leaves on the sidewalk, the stretchy cobwebs and spiders decorating the yards. It is truly one of the best times of the year!
Gone are the days when I could plan fun themed costumes for my little men. They are all very opinionated and have their own ideas about things. I guess that's a good thing. :) Brody was certain from day one that he wanted to be an army guy. I think he really wanted a big fake gun to go along with his suit, but I decided to wait until he's spent time with Grandaddy to learn the importance of gun safety. I know, it's just a toy, but I didn't want to glorify guns in any way before he has the "talk" with his grandfather. :)
Leyton originally chose to be The Lone Ranger, but when we saw this Tonto costume, he changed his mind. He loved the braided and beaded wig and the giant black bird on top. It was the perfect costume for him, and he looked awesome! I meant to paint his face white with black stripes like the real Tonto (and give Brody some camo paint on his face,) but alas, I ran out of time to get to the Halloween store. Thankfully, they forgot all about it in their excitement to go trick or treating!
I originally chose and purchased an adorable boxer costume for Callan. He was adamant before I even bought it that he wanted to be a pirate, but I didn't listen. I should have. He refused to wear the boxer costume, so we were left scrounging for pirate parts around the house. It was a little makeshift, but he was so happy!
And Miss E dressed as a candy corn princess for her first Halloween. I found this adorable tutu and matching leg warmers before she was even born, and I knew that they would be perfect. She will probably be able to wear them for the next two years as they were a bit big, but she looked adorable just the same!
The boys enjoyed trick or treating with our friends The Powells while E and I stayed indoors. Then we all headed over to Wendy's for the annual Halloween Party. The weather wasn't too cold and it was a perfect night for some Halloween fun!
This picture cracks me up and is so typical...Callan looks confused, Leyton is smiling, Brody is like "whatevs" and Emmeline is wailing! Ha! Welcome to my life!
Happy Halloween!!
