Happy Thanksgiving!

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving Day with just our little family and the best meal of the whole year! Normally, I feel a little bummed when we don't have plans to spend holidays with family or friends, and this year was no exception. However, it was such a relaxed, stress-free and fun Thanksgiving Day that I'm changing my tune a bit. I love to cook and make the big turkey day meal, so I went for it again this year, but this time I made sure to have everything prepared except the turkey by Wednesday evening so that I could enjoy the day on Thursday without having to spend the entire time in the kitchen. That plan worked great, and I was able to spend lots of quality time with my sweeties, watching the parade, playing games, indulging, and just enjoying their company.

We are starting our own traditions as a family, and that is really fun! Like sparkling apple cider in fancy (not really!) wine glasses for the kids during dinner...

Breaking out (but hopefully not breaking) the fancy china, crystal and silver on our special occasion...

Smiling a WHOLE LOT...

...and sharing gratitude rolls, which are homemade rolls with little "fortunes" tucked inside that we read aloud and share what we are thankful for!

I think the thumbs up says it all. It was a great day! Happy Thanksgiving!
