The Princess Palace

As I sit here 5 days overdue, stuffing myself silly with chocolate chip cookies and anxiously awaiting baby's arrival, I decided to finally reveal little girl's nursery. As you can expect after having three boys, I enjoyed every minute of putting this room together, and I am SO pleased with the finished product. I can't wait to sit in here and rock little girl to sleep, dress her up every morning, and watch her sleep peacefully at night.

I had a tough time deciding on the linens, but once I found them (Restoration Hardware Baby & Child,) everything started to fall into place. I pretty much wanted a room straight out of the RH catalog, but with the hefty price tag for all the items, I had to use my creativity and craftiness to come up with some look-a-likes. HomeGoods and I developed quite the relationship over the past few months! :)

Once I had the linens ordered, it was easy to choose a simple color scheme to go along with it. I love the combo of light pink and gray, and it worked perfectly in this room.  A new white slipcover on the lime green chair along with the pink footstool from Target and a couple sparkly throw pillows, and the sitting area was quickly converted from all boy to girly chic.

From the second I laid eyes on the crib canopies in the RH catalog, I was dying to get one. But again, they cost quite the pretty penny. I couldn't justify spending that much, so I improvised. I found this wall sconce from Homegoods for $8, spray painted it silver, and then added an Ikea mosquito net curtain attached to an embroidery hoop. It was so easy to make and I love the way it turned out.

Chandeliers in baby girls' rooms are all the rage right now, and our room wouldn't have been complete without one. We found the PERFECT one at Menards, and my dad installed it over the summer. We need to touch up the ceiling with a little white ceiling paint, but for now you get the idea.

To update this baby dresser and make it fit for a girl, I removed the boring brown wood knobs and replaced them with crystal knobs, then added this pretty silver mirror over the change table. Again, thank you Homegoods!

This frame set was a huge score, again from Homegoods. I found these frames out of the blue one day and thought they would be perfect, so I snatched up a couple. When I got home with them, I started flipping thru the RH catalog to get an idea of how to arrange them on the wall. I was completely shocked when I turned to a page that had these EXACT frames on the wall, the biggest of which cost $64. (Mine cost $12!) I couldn't believe it, so I ran back and picked up the other two frames to complete the set. Then I attached ribbon to the backs and hung them on these pretty cream and silver knobs. I can't wait to fill them with pictures of our sweet little one!

Laundry basket (Homegoods) and a little glimpse of the rug (Ikea.)

I loved this little shelf because the stain looks both pink and gray, depending on how you look at it. It fit perfectly in the room, and with a few accessories, it's ready to go. And yes, now you know the first letter of baby girl's name! Stay tuned to find out what it is!

As you can see, we are clearly ready around here. All that's missing is a baby!!!
