Dear Leyton

Dear Leyton,

Happy happy birthday to our middle! You are a little ray of sunshine that I look forward to waking up to every morning, and I am so happy to be sharing this special day with you! You are sweet, creative, thoughtful, and completely full of mischief, and you keep us on our toes every day. To say you are probably our hardest right now would be an understatement, as sometimes we don't quite know just what to do with you, but you can charm the pants off anyone, Mommy and Daddy included, so you tend to get away with your fair share of naughtiness. Plus, who can resist that big smile, giant blue eyes, and those enormous hugs?!

You are a good friend, Mr. Leyton, and you were super excited to see some of your "besties" from last year in your preschool class again this year. It was fun to watch you giving everyone hugs and just so happy to see them after the summer break. They were super excited to see you, too. You kind of do have a way with the ladies! ;) You also LOVE your teacher, Ms. Sheryl, and I know you are going to have a great year! She was super impressed with your creativity, but we all know what an artsy little thing you are. You are constantly carrying around some creation that you've designed and made, or putting together one interesting outfit after another, and I am always impressed by your style. I see designer in your future, little man, and you are going to be great at it!

You continue to be super picky when it comes to just about anything, but I'm starting to see that you probably get your tendency to be "particular" from me. Yep, you and I are quite a bit alike, which can sometimes make us butt heads, but really, I feel like it helps me understand you better. I know where you're coming from!

This morning, you were thrilled to find a nice stack of gifts waiting for you when you woke up...beads and art supplies, books, a game, and a new vet set and bulldog puppy (stuffed, of course!) You could hardly wait to tear into everything. After school and gymnastics, we had a fun evening together at home that ended with delicious oreo cupcakes!
