Hammons Visit

We had a fun start to December this year because the Hammons came to visit! It was a whirlwind three days spent playing and enjoying the beginning of winter and the start of the holiday season with our uncle, auntie, and cousins!

Collier and Callan had a grand time on Friday while the big boys were in school. First, they worked on their ice skating in the backyard rink. After that became tiring, they ditched the skates for boots and made a fort out of the hockey net. They stayed out for a looong time, working on their appetites before we headed out for lunch at Pizzeria Lola.

When the boys got home from school, we headed downtown to Macy's to check out their 8th Floor Exhibit, "A Day in the Life of an Elf." We try to see it once a year, and we were really happy that Aunt Kelli, Collier and Keaton could see it this year, too. After we walked through the display, the kids really wanted to sit on Santa's lap. So we did. Emme cried, Leyton had wet pants, and Brody was wearing crocs, but it was still fun. And the big snowman cookies afterwards were even better!

On Saturday night, the big kids went out for a nice dinner while the littles stayed at home with two babysitters. We tried out a place we hadn't been to before, Coup d'Etat, and it did not disappoint! All the food was super yummy and it was a great atmosphere. I know Brad and I will definitely be back.

Sunday we took a quick trip to the Mall of America to ride a few rides before they had to head to the airport. The babies took their first carousel rides. :)
