The Last Pumpkin

A lesson for everyone...do NOT wait until the night before Halloween to buy your pumpkins. Brad took the boys out after school to pick out their pumpkins for carving, only to discover all the stores were sold out! They found one lonely pumpkin with a puncture wound sitting under a box at Sunnyside, which the manager just gave them for free. Thankfully, we had the two pumpkins that Callan and Leyton had picked out a couple weeks ago at Farmer Ken's, so we ended up having one for each boy. Crisis averted, thank goodness!

As usual, Brad is the expert carver of the family. He set to work designing and carving the boys' dream pumpkings. Well, every boy except Leyton. While Brad was carving Brody's pumpkin, Leyton used a black permanent marker to draw a very detailed and intricate design of his jack-o-lantern's face all over the outside. Of course, Brad's not quite that good, so he had to improvise, taking off the outer layer of face, too. Leyton ended up with the scariest looking pumpkin by far!
