School Days Are Here Again!

It's that time of year again, a week earlier this year...

Big 2nd Grader!!

Brody was eager to go back to school and see all his friends again. This year he is in Mrs. Olson's class. She has taught at Concord for 25 years, and he thinks she is super nice. With only two other boys from his class last year and a handful of girls, he is making lots of new friends and even planning his own book club on the playground, open to boys who enjoy the Notebook of Doom series. I keep telling him that second grade is the best year, so we'll see if that turns out to be true!

I think he is definitely feeling like a big man on campus now that his little brother is going to the same school. When we told him he had to watch out for Leyton, his only concern was that he would have to sit in the same seat as him on the bus with all the "little kids." :)

And this guy. My middle cutie off to kindergarten at last. He was a little nervous, feeling a little shy, but very excited at the same time! It's both emotionally challenging and completely liberating to watch another sweet baby get big enough to go off to school. I'm going to be a complete mess when they leave home for college.

Leyton is in Mr. Davidson's class, a new teacher at our school. He has taught in the district for many many years but just transferred over from another elementary school. He seems very nice, and it will be interesting to have a male teacher for the first time. So far, Leyton has enjoyed time to color each day, recess time where he can hang out with his good friend Maddie from preschool, and guitar time where Mr. Davidson plays and teaches them fun songs.

Cheers to a brand new school year and all that it may bring!
