For the 4th of July, we headed down to Galveston, Texas, for a few days at the beach with Auntie Kelli and her family and Oma & Opa. Galveston is another place I have not visited in years, probably since high school. I warned the kids not to expect too much as far as beaches go, especially since we had heard that the seaweed was particularly bad this year. Thankfully, my kids don't need anything fancy to have fun, and they were in heaven the entire time we were there! It's funny how we traveled all the way down to the beautiful beaches of Florida last year only to have it rain nearly the entire time. For this trip, we traveled to a not-so-pretty beach and had amazing weather all weekend. Maybe Galveston is the place to be!
We rented a really cute beach house right near all the action, and it was a perfect house for all of us. It took no time for us to settle in and make ourselves at home for four days!
We were the first to arrive, so we quickly headed down the street to The Spot to enjoy a nice relaxing dinner on the patio and a yummy beverage!

ahh, that hits the spot! |
The boys had to have their fancy drinks, too...
After dinner, we headed across the street to walk on the beach. The boys loved going out on the jetty and were intrigued by the barnacles and sea shells they saw. As you can see from the pictures, the seaweed was pretty bad, but this was the worst day by far and even then, it didn't stop us from having fun!
