Day 9:
It's movie night! Watch a Christmas movie and make popcorn.
The kids chose Elf. That movie is so darn funny! "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!"
Day 10:
Christmas is all about giving! Did you know that many children can't afford to get lots of gifts at Christmas time? Today you will go shopping and choose gifts to donate to Toys for Tots so that kids who don't have as much as you can have a Merry Christmas, too!
Although this particular activity didn't quite go as planned due to me being sick, we were still able to collect a couple of toys to donate. I hope that next year we will adopt a family through our church. I think the kids would love shopping for one or two kids in particular and actually buying things the kids asked for. It might hit home a bit more to know exactly who their presents will be going to vs. a toy collection box.
Day 11:
Did you know that no two snowflakes are exactly alike? The sparkle of fresh snowflakes is pure magic, and today you will create your own sparkly snowflakes that will last even in the hot sun!
This activity turned out to be a huge hit! All you need is a box of Borax, pipe cleaners, and boiling water. It was so easy and quick, and the end result was really cool! We love looking at our sparkly snowflakes shining in the window.
