When we asked Brody what he wanted to do for his birthday party this year, without hesitation he said he wanted a hockey party, so that's what we did! We decided against going all out hockey since some of his friends aren't very familiar with the game, or the ice for that matter. In lieu of actually playing hockey, we just let everyone dress in their gear and skate "roller rink style" on the ice. With loud music and flashing lights, it was a fun scene for a birthday party!
This was one of those parties where you pretty much just show up. The rink took care of everything for us. They provided a party room, pizza and lemonade, balloons, and even the birthday cake. With so many birthday parties in our family all in a row, it was kind of nice to have such an easy one!

The only creative thing I really got to do for this party were the goodie bags, but I had a lot of fun putting them together. I had a vision for personalized hockey pucks, and using some Avery sticker labels, I designed stickers of our little hockey player and stuck them to the front of each puck, creating a keepsake that I hope the kids can use, too! In addition, lollipops, gummy bears, and glow sticks were cinched inside star goodie bags, and then all of the items were placed in miniature Minnesota Wild helmets that I had collected last winter at the games. Free + Cute = perfect containers to hold it all together!
It was a fun party for our busy little hockey star! Happy 6th Birthday, Brody!
