5 Months Old!

I am so behind! Callan turned five months old today and I still haven't taken him in for his four month check-up. Wow, things change the third time around. One thing is for sure--he is growing like a weed and is the happiest little thing these days! It is so fun!

He's the only one of my babies who has taken a paci...not sure if that's a good thing!

I am SO curious to know what Callan weighs right now and how that compares to his brothers. Most importantly I want to compare him to Leyton. Brody doesn't really count because he was a formula fed baby. But since I nursed Leyton for the entire first year and am nursing Callan now, I am interested to see how he stacks up to the big L. Callan has not been the best nurser, and I know he's growing and thriving (face and legs filling out, wearing 6-12 month clothing,) but I do worry that he's not as much of a butterball as he would be if I paid more attention to the amount he takes in each day, either by pumping and feeding or formula feeding exclusively. We'll see what the doc says...I'm sure he'll tell me that Callan is growing just fine, but this mama just needs to give herself something to worry about. :)

Those little thighs look pretty good, huh? He loves checking himself out in the mirror, grabbing his toes, and even eating them if he gets a chance!

So far, no teeth yet, but he has taken quite a liking to his little fingers. They are constantly in his mouth and have recently been joined by his Sophie the Giraffe and various other toys he likes (including the yellow foot teether that was a favorite of Brody's.) I don't expect him to get teeth for a few more months, but he definitely likes mouthing things.

Callan has recently taken an interest in Elijah as well. Now, whenever he sees Elijah come in the room, he starts squealing happily and moving his arms and legs. He likes to reach his hands out and let Elijah lick his fingers. I'm sure Mr. Bulldog loves the attention, even if it is coming from someone who's taken even more away from him!

Smiley Pants

Both brothers continue to adore their littlest sidekick. Brody loves to snuggle with him in our bed in the morning, help get him dressed after his bath, and hold toys in his face. Leyton starting calling him "Baby Callie," and although we certainly don't want him to be stuck with a girly nickname forever, it's pretty darn cute to hear Leyton say it. So we're letting it go for now! :)
See the "toy" that Brody hung from his mobile? I think it's something from Brad's golf bag...

I still can't believe I have three little boys. It is both hilarious, overwhelming, surreal, and sometimes quite scary! But they are such amazing little miracles, each with his own likes and personality, and I couldn't feel luckier!

That's so neat how the boys interact together. Callan is really big! Much bigger then Nava. Of course he is older then she is. I've fallen in love with the benefits of nursing - weight loss! :) God bless you and your beautiful family!
(I couldn't imagine having three boys running around! I'm so inspired by you - that you can keep your head on!)
