Halloween Festivities

We had a very fun and very busy Halloween weekend this year! I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again...the fall in MN is such a great time of year--beautiful weather, festive events, and a sense of celebration as we soak in these last days before the cold arrives. Now that Brad and I have kids, Halloween has become even more fun, and we are taking the time to establish new family traditions to help us enjoy this fun time of year. This year we did a lot more decorating, inside and out, as the kids couldn't get enough of the spooky spiderwebs, ghosts and jack-o-lanterns around the house. Brody has been asking for weeks when Halloween would finally arrive, and it was nice to be able to finally say, "Today!"

Big brothers lovin' on the little one!

Our littlest pumpkin..what do ya think? Doesn't he look like his mama?

Happy Halloween!

We started our weekend with the 3rd Annual Beard Ave. Pumpkin Carving Party. The weather was nice enough that we were able to carve our jack-o-lanterns in the Schwartz's front yard. What a treat! Brad was the master carver, whipping out three really cool jack-o-lanterns in a very short time. B & L were excited about the first one, and they loved getting their hands goopy and gross, but they eventually lost interest and found other things to do, like eating as many apple muffins as their tummies could hold! We thought our finished products turned out great!

Mr. Callan enjoyed the pumpkin carving from his nice seat, all snuggled up in his ghost blankie. (Thanks, Oma!)

The boys dig in!

Everett, Katherine, and Brody w/ their apple muffins.

The parachute was more fun than making jack-0-lanterns after awhile.

Our finished product! Just wait 'til you see them all lit up!

That evening, we met with our Dinner Club for a little Halloween feast. Check our our mummy meatloaf and the fabulous eyeball cupcakes that we shared together. Yum!

Nice work, Shoma!

B & L couldn't keep their EYES off these cupcakes while I iced them!

We tried to get a pic of the kiddos all dressed up, but they really weren't having any of it. B, L, & C were a knight and 2 dragons, but we'll get to that in a later post. (Kaden, Callan, Brody, Leyton, Maisie, and Harry)
