It's a Bird, It's a Plane, It's a Birthday Party!

Sunday, August 15th was a day of celebration in the Smith household. Not only did we celebrate Brody's recent 4th birthday, but we also celebrated Leyton's upcoming 2nd birthday with a fabulous Superhero birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's. It was a great party, and our boys (along with all the guests) had a fantastic time with the games, pizza, and of course, Chuck E. himself!

As usual, I went a little overboard, but I figured that since we were killing two birds with one stone by having a joint party, I could live it up a little bit! Since the boys are way into superheros right now, we decided to implement that theme throughout the party details. Each guest received a personalized superhero cape and mask along with a goodie bag that included Batman crayons, superhero taffy, and a coloring sheet. It was great to see all the kiddos running around the restaurant dressed like little Superheros! They loved it, and I hope they are continuing to love being little Superheros at home. The capes were fun and easy to make, and they were a perfect favor to send home with all the little ones.

Party set-up

For the cake, I decided to have it made this year instead of taking on the task of designing, baking, and creating by myself. (No Ace of Cakes to help me out this year!) We used a great cake lady recommended by my friend Geri. I blatantly stole the cake idea from Tori Spelling's son's birthday party, and I loved the way it turned out. Both Brody and Leyton were completely in awe of their cake and couldn't wait to dig in! It was yummy and beautiful and received many compliments from our guests!

No Chuck E. Cheese birthday party is complete without a cup full of tokens and lots of games/rides. For the first half of the party, the guests enjoyed all the fun that Chuck E. Cheese's has to offer.

Then everyone headed back to our table for some pizza and cake. Brody and Leyton were the stars of the birthday show, and Chuck E. came out to present them with their birthday crowns and take pics. Brody got to try out the ticket blaster booth, where he was supposed to grab as many tickets as he could while they blew around fiercely in a plastic tube. He wasn't quite sure what to do, but he had fun anyway!

It was such a fun party, and the best part was not having to clean up at the end. :) Happy Birthday to my sweet little men, Brody and Leyton. Hope your next year is filled with as much joy and laughter as this one has been!
