Auntie Kelli Visits!

Last weekend Auntie Kelli came up from Dallas for a long weekend visit. Time always goes so fast when she is here! Of course, the boys were so thrilled to see her, and Aunt Kelli spoiled them rotten as usual. The weekend was beautiful the entire time she was here. We had had four straight days of rain, but thankfully the sun was out and the weather was warm for her visit. We didn't do anything all that special while she was here--it was just fun to hang out together. The Linden Hills festival and yard sales were going on that weekend as well, so we hit those up and the boys found a few new treasures. I think the most coveted new treasure of all, though, was the "sock" coin purse that Aunt Kelli let the boys borrow to carry their money in for the yard sales. They loved it so much that it's still here, and Leyton is now taking it to bed every night.

Glad we only paid $1 for these horrible face paintings..Brody's was supposed to be a dragon and Leyton's was a bunny.

Aunt Kelli is such a trooper that she helped Brad roto-till the backyard on Saturday and shovel dirt from one side of the yard to the other. We have quite a project going on back there, and as Kelli said, Brad is more motivated when she's there, so we took advantage of that to get him to work!! (I promised her that next time she visits, after the baby comes, we're just going to sit in that lovely backyard and drink!!) Brody and Leyton were very excited to play in all the dirt. They both tried to make dirt angels and then spent some time collecting as many worms as they could find. But the funniest by far was watching Brody dance around like an aborigine in the mud. He was in Brody Heaven! And now, for your viewing pleasure--here is the grand finale--Brody dancing excitedly in the mud pit that is our backyard! (and listen carefully to hear Leyton's trademark "baaing" in the background!)
