Fun at the Fair

We headed out to the MN State Fair on Friday to see the farm animals, tractors, and everything you can imagine on a stick. I always look forward to going to this big event every summer, but I also know that it means the summer is nearing it's end. :(

Brody and Leyton had a great time at the Little Farm Hands area. Brody was just the right age for it this year, but it was a good thing the lines weren't too long because I don't think he would have been able to handle waiting. His favorite part was riding the tractor and digging in the dirt, of course!

Afterward, we let Brody and Leyton try out the real deal--full size tractors and diggers. Boy, did they have a blast!

Next, Brody and I took a turn on the Giant Slide. Wheeeee! So fun! Brody was really excited to go on it, but of course right when we were about to go down he started saying, "I don't want to go. I don't want to go." I think he enjoyed it, but he'll try to tell you he didn't like the bumps.

After consuming cheese curds, a pronto pup, a fried Snickers bar, and two giant glasses of fresh squeezed lemonade, we headed back to the Smith Casa, tired and full.  Good times!
