I am so behind in posting Leyton's 11-month updates. So behind, in fact, that I am only two weeks away from having to post 12 month updates!! I cannot believe my sweet little baby is about to be ONE YEAR OLD! I am in denial and wish that I could just hold tight to his soft, cuddly babyness for a little while longer...
Man, they grow way too fast! As we get nearer to the wonderful day that we welcomed our new little one, I find myself staring at his adorable little face more often, holding onto him for just a few seconds more before I put him down, lingering in his room to watch him sleep, all in an effort to hang on to these moments as long as I can. Ok, now I'm feeling sad that my babies are growing up, but growing up isn't all bad. Look at all the things Leyton can do now! It's amazing!
1. He said his first word -- "Elijah!" No kidding! He really says our dog's name, and it's perfectly clear. I am absolutely going to get this on video, I promise.
2. He loves to clap, wave bye-bye and hello, blow kisses, and say "mmm-ah!" when you ask him for a kiss.
3. He eats anything, and loves it all, usually, except when he doesn't, and then he throws whatever it is down to the floor for Elijah to enjoy. They are good friends.
4. He loves to read books at night when he's drinking his bedtime bottle. He's especially into the touch and feel books and his peek-a-boo books.
5. When he puts something in his mouth that he knows isn't food, he looks at me and grins. Then when I say, "What's in your mouth?" he starts laughing and crawls away as fast as he can!
6. He absolutely loves the water and has no fear when it comes to the pool, bath, or lake. He will crawl right in. He loves to splash and kick really hard.
7. He has been a snaggle tooth for the past two weeks, with a lone tooth on the top. It's not even one of his front teeth, but one of the side teeth! Kind of funny looking. However, his two front teeth on top are cutting thru right now, so he'll look much better in a few days. :)
7. Every day is all about exploring--the ball pit, the tunnel, the tent--he will pretty much go anywhere without hesitation and usually comes out smiling.
This little man is SO much fun, and we all love him to pieces!
