Tales of a 2.10 Year-Old
I've lost my blogging mojo.  Since I no longer get a chance to sit on the computer for countless hours during every day and my oldest refuses to nap unless we are driving around, I am now forced to blog late at night when I have twenty million other things to do as well (like that laundry piled up in our bedroom.)  I am slowly becoming a night owl whether I like it or not. And unfortunately, right now all I have time for is a quick list to get you up to speed on the most recent Brodyisms.  These are the things you might see happening in our house:
  • He wakes us up every morning by crawling into our bed for some snuggles and hugs. I love to see his bright shining smile, and I love the few minutes of calm before the storm.
  • He wants to help with chores around the house.  He enjoys doing laundry, mopping/sweeping the floors, helping with Leyton's diapers, and participating with food prep at mealtimes.
  • Although he goes a mile a minute all day long, he will still cuddle up on the couch and read books for nearly an hour.  In fact, he would probably go longer than that if I actually had the time to sit there that long without doing anything else.
  • He is becoming VERY bossy, so we are working on using manners and asking for things nicely.
  • He loves to be outside and wants to help out in the yard when he's not busy blowing bubbles, digging for worms, or practicing his batting swing with his t-ball set.
  • He has become more and more picky with food.  I don't know what happened to my little guy who would eat almost anything.  He screams "Get it off" when he sees things on his plate that he doesn't want.  It can sometimes be quite challenging, but then he'll eat a whole plate of broccoli or hummus and I wonder why I would even begin to freak out.
  • NOT napping--Mom so tired--loooong days--enough said.
  • He is starting to dress himself and take more of an interest in what he wears.
  • He has started the very typical and sometimes quite annoying toddler "why" about everything.  He asks me at least twice a day, "Why is Leyton a baby?"  I have exhausted all my good answers for this question, so now I just say the same thing every time he asks me.
  • He definitely wants to assert his independence in many ways, whether it's by walking instead of riding in the stroller, choosing his own snack, selecting which apples to buy at the grocery store, or doing something totally naughty just because he can.  He is definitely not always easy, but it is interesting, challenging, and joyously rewarding to be his mom!

Yes, that is a REAL bear!  How cool is that?!
