Screechy Baby and Scary Mommy

I've mentioned previously that Leyton is our screechy baby.  In fact, Brody calls him that whenever he hears him squawking like a bird.  I decided to try to get it on film so that we would always be able to look back at Leyton's first attempts at communication, even if they do qualify him for a room in the aviary.  

As always, he was a little camera shy at first.

So then I decided to stop the camera and try to get him to mimic the sounds I made.  I tried to make my best bird squawk, but I think I must have sounded more like an archaeopteryx than a mockingbird.  He wasn't having any of it.

Finally, I got him calmed down, and he decided to give me one good shriek!  See, he does sound like a baby bird.  And what a cute little bird he is!  Now let's just hope Brody doesn't decide to feed our baby bird any worms. :)
