9 Months!

She's about the cutest thing ever. I say that probably fifty times a day. Now I've got Brody saying it all the time, too. The fact is, we are all head over heels for our sweet sweet girl.

Big news this month--Emmeline started crawling! First, she started going from her belly to a sitting position. Then, she started getting on all fours and rocking and rocking. I knew it was only a matter of time, and sure enough, she decided to go for it one afternoon while playing with Daddy. He called me to come downstairs, and I got to see it for myself. We are proud of our little cutie and her newest moves!

Miss E is also starting to show her anger and frustration in new ways, like throwing her head back when she's mad. She doesn't do it every time, but there have been a few times when she has really shown me just how not pleased she is with whatever is going on. It always makes me laugh to see her so dramatic, but I'm sure that's not the reaction she is hoping for.

People ask me all the time if having a girl is different than having a boy, and so far I haven't noticed too many things that are different. All four of my babies have been generally the same, and I am lucky! But just recently I have noticed something. Emmeline is definitely quicker to cry these days than the boys were. If you take something from her that she wants or if she gets hurt (by herself or someone else--or even just tapped a little harder than normal) she cries much easier. I think those feminine emotions are starting to show themselves a little bit.

She is still such a good baby, and things have been pretty easy peasy lately. She started sleeping almost through the night with one consistent wake up at 2 am for a quick feeding. She's also taking longer naps in her crib, both in the morning and in the afternoon. With crazy summer schedules, it's hard to stick to a good nap schedule, but when we are home, she will sleep for a nice long while in her crib. I hope she keeps all this up after we get back from vacation!

She continues to eat like a champ and try new foods without hesitation. We are pretty relaxed about giving her pretty much anything we eat as long as it's in manageable pieces. So far, everything has been welcomed. I hope that continues!

And finally, Emmeline added the coveted words "da da" to her vocabulary this month. Daddy is thrilled as you can imagine! Everything is  da da these days, and it's really cute to hear her babbling away, even though we have no idea what she's telling us.

Each and every day brings something new, and we are so very thankful for this girl!
