Half a Year!

Somebody please slow down time...

Miss Emmeline is growing faster by the day and doing great! This month she became busy busy busy! She won't just sit in her chair for our photo sessions anymore. Now she wants to grab at the camera, play with her pillow, grab her toes, and just move move move. She is not sitting independently quite yet, but she is getting close. And she can squirm around and get to where she wants to go pretty well. Many days I find her in her crib completely turned around from the direction I put her in. She is happy as can be and pretty much content anywhere I put her to play. She is also happy to just sit in the highchair and eat her teething biscuits while I make dinner or clean up. I am again so thankful to have such an easy, content baby.

This month we have expanded her menu of solid foods, and so far, there isn't anything she won't eat. Apples, avocado, bananas, butternut squash, pears, green beans, peas, broccoli, and pumpkin have all been welcomed. She even got her first taste of tomato basil soup from Daddy when I wasn't in the room, and evidently she devoured it! Sleeping continues to get better, and she is now waking up to eat only once per night (but she does wake up a few times for her paci.) I expect she won't sleep thru the night until 9 months, the same as the boys, and even then I will have to do a little sleep training to make it happen. But I have to admit I thoroughly enjoy our night time moments, when it's quiet and dark and I can just hold her and watch her sleep. I know all too well that this won't last long, and I am determined to savor every single moment!

We all just love watching her grow and change with each passing day. Although I wish I could just bottle this time and have it for always, I sure do relish each new milestone. Here's to enjoying what the next six months will bring!
