Hittin' The Slopes

This year we decided it was time for Leyton and Callan to try out skiing, so we bought a three-pack of lessons at Trollhaugen in Wisconsin. Brody was thrilled to be back out on the slopes and took to it again in no time. I wasn't sure how the two younger boys would do, but they absolutely loved it! Brad, Emme, and I watched from the comfort of the warm lodge with lattes and apple strudel. Their smiles when we picked them up said it all, and the following week, I kept hearing Callan say he wanted to go skiing again. I love it!

We decided to take them out the next Saturday for their second lesson. All went well again, and this time at the end they all wanted to show us what they had learned. Leyton was amazing, going up the tow rope and flying down the hill all by himself! Brody wanted to show us how he could go up the chair lift, so we said ok. We saw him go up, and many minutes passed as we waited for him to return to the bottom. Finally, we saw him making his way down, on a blue (!) trail. As he reached the bottom, he told us that he had gone off into the forest and skiied down that way. Yes, I almost had a heart attack! I told him that he should probably stick with greens and refrain from off-roading until one of us went with him. But boy, was he proud of himself!

Looks like we're going to have a family of skiiers! Might be time to plan a trip back to Colorado!
