Spectacular Spud

To celebrate the upcoming Book Fair, Brody's school put on a potato decorating contest. The idea was to dress up a potato as your favorite book character with a chance to win free book fair cash to spend. Brody wanted to participate, and after convincing him that Captain Underpants was just way too easy, we settled on recreating one of the wild things from Where the Wild Things Are.

Brody and Brad worked together to design this spectacular spud, and Brody won first prize for his grade level! He was super proud and even more excited to attend the book fair and get a free book--his choice, The Dude Diary!

We're already brainstorming ideas for next year. And just as I had thought, there were probably 25 Captain Underpants entries so we'll be staying away from that!
