Dinosaur Party Action Shots

After all that prep, it was time for the fun to begin! What a gift to be able to share this celebration with some good friends (and a little family, too! Thanks Aunt Bethany for being here!) Here are some photos of the fun that was had at Callan's dinosaur birthday party. I would say it was a huge success!

fossil digging--this was the sand pit where i buried all those fossil "rocks" i made. the kids loved digging thru the sand to find a fossil and then excavating it to reach the skeleton inside.
lookin' for dino eggs--sydney and callan got to go first because they were the "littles."

I picked up the dino eggs for the egg hunt online thru Oriental Trading. They came ready-made with a tiny rubber dinosaur in each one. Aunt Bethany played the Dino Bunny and hid them all over the yard. Then she actually kept the kids entertained with a game of Simon Says while they waited for their turn to hunt!
READY!
SET!
GO!
it's dino egg madness!
who can find the most?
I did not anticipate that the dino egg hunt would keep the kids busy for so long. I thought it would last 2 minutes and then they would be on to something else. Nope! They all sat down with their pails, went through every single egg, lined up their dinosaurs, traded them, and admired them for a loooong time!

Then it was time for the T-Rex pinata! The kids scrambled to snatch up their candy, dinosaur stickers, and dinosaur stamps before they were all gone.

This face says it all! Happy Birthday Callan George! I'm pretty sure he was most pleased with his party!
