Grandaddy and Grandma drove up from Texas for a week long visit with our crazy brood, and we had a great time together! It was one of those weeks where when it rains it pours, and we had so much going on! Church camp, a hockey clinic, park camps, and three birthday parties all during the week made it seem like we were on the run more than we were home, but we still made lots of time to play. Mini-golf, fishing at Lake Harriet, and daily walks to Turtle Bread for pastries were some of the highlights for the boys, but really they just enjoyed hanging out with (and showing off for!) their grandparents most of all.
A few months ago, Grandaddy sent Brody a collector's folder for the 50 State Quarters. Since then, he's been sending him a few at a time to add to the collection. During their visit, Grandaddy gave him about 15 new quarters. It was fun to listen to him telling Brody about the different states and helping him locate them on the map.
On Friday before they left to head back, we had an early celebration for Callan's birthday. He opened a few fun gifts, like a new fishing set, a t-ball set, and a light up piggy bank. Then we headed out for a celebratory brunch, where he ate practically twice his weight in ham and eggs! :)
We are so thankful that we were able to have Grandaddy and Grandma here! We wish we could see them more often!!
