MLK Weekend 2015

Each year, Edina schools are out for MLK day along with a teacher work-day on Tuesday. More time off means more time for fun! :) (Ok, I'll admit it, I don't always have this happy attitude when I add up all the days they are off over the winter, but I do enjoy the time we get to spend together once it arrives.)

On Monday, Brody had a hockey game in the morning to finish off a tournament he had been playing in that weekend. We followed that with some sledding at Browndale Park. It was perfect weather for sledding, not too cold, and we spent a nice afternoon together getting excercise and burning some energy
this is how emmeline watched the hockey game. ;)

On Tuesday, we headed to St. Paul to visit the Science Museum. The kids always love going there, and it was a really fun day together. Sometimes I get a little anxious when I consider taking all four somewhere by myself, but Brody always steps up and does a great job helping, and we usually end up having a good time. Our favorites this trip were the news studio, the science lab, and the sea life imax movie.

brody was so serious, and callan's just back there sticking out his tongue the whole time!

This was our first time to do an experiment in the science lab. You have to be 8 to do it, but the person in charge let us in and just had Brody complete the steps while the brothers looked on. We dissected wheat germ to get a sample of its DNA. Pretty cool, huh?

Baby girl hung in there all day. She loved finding this little car that looked so much like her pink one at home!
