An Apple A Day

Visiting Minnetonka Orchards has become a Smith Family tradition that we look forward to every fall, and it was fun to be able to bring Oma along while she was visiting. Coincidentally, we went there last year on the very same day while Oma was visiting and when Emme was just a week old. I still can't believe she's already a year old, but I have to say she probably enjoyed the orchard a lot more this go round. It was a bit chilly out, but the skies were blue and the sun was out, so it was nothing a little hot apple cider and warm apple donuts couldn't fix!

I think we've actually only picked apples at this orchard once, maybe twice, in all the years we've gone there. We generally go to two or three orchards each year but we only pick once. We really just go to this one for all the other fun things to do, like the corn maze, the little train, and the corn crib slide. Our favorite thing is the hayride through the spooky forest with the creepy creatures and flying pterodactyl. And, they have amazing brats with grilled apples and onions that I start to crave right about August along with those dangerous apple donuts!

they've all grown!
hay. it's everywhere out here
oma found her honeycrisp apples!
time for the hayride!
playing on top of the train
crawling through the train
and jumping off the top of the train!
no corn maze this year, but that didn't stop them from traipsing through the field anyway
