Bye Bye Kindergarten!

Look how big he is! Where did the time go? An entire Kindergarten year has come and gone already!

This has been quite a week at school for the big B. On Monday, the families were invited to school for a Kindergarten Celebration. First, the kindergartners performed for us, playing instruments and then performing a cute little dance. Then we shared some treats, looked through memory books, and enjoyed a very precious slideshow of the school year. It was a fun morning and a great send-off for the kids!

On Wednesday, the class had their End-of-the-Year party. It was luau themed and adorable! We have great room parents who are so detail-oriented, so everything was planned to a T. Brad was able to step away from work for a few minutes to join the party, and he ended up leading the kids in the limbo! Brody was thrilled to have both of us there, without his brothers tagging along, and it was great to get a chance to participate in one more activity before kindergarten is over.

And now today, I dropped him off for kindergarten for the very last time. Such a bittersweet moment! We are all excited about the summer and the fun that it will bring, but I know he will miss the great times and all his friends at Concord.

Brody, congratulations on completing your kindergarten year! I am truly amazed and impressed with the accomplishments you have made this year. When I sent you off those first few weeks, I constantly wondered if you were ready for school, how you compared to the other kids in your class, and would you really be able to meet your goal of "learning to read?" Of course, I knew you were smart, capable, and determined, but I had no idea just how much. You have AMAZED me, your teachers, and everyone around you with all you have learned this year and how far you have come. You went from not even knowing all your letter sounds to reading words like "Deep Sea Anglerfish" without skipping a beat. You can add numbers in your head and you constantly quiz Daddy and me on our simple multiplication facts and skip counting. You are a ROCK STAR, and I love how eager you are to just soak it all in! I hope that light and love for learning never fades. :)

Now it's time for some rockin' summer fun!
