Tonight after dinner, you get to make a special treat--reindeer donuts and hot apple cider!
Chocolate donuts, pretzels, and M&M's? Yes, please!

Day 14:
Donkeys and sheep and camels, oh my! Take a journey back in time as you visit a living nativity. You'll see what it looked like the night Jesus was born! A surprise Christmas book will be waiting for you when you get home.
When planning the countdown, I knew I wanted to find a place that had a living nativity. What a great surprise to discover that our very own church had decided to try it out this year for the first time! It was very well done and quite impactful. The best part for the kids was seeing and touching all the animals, including this overly friendly camel. He kept trying to eat people's clothing! After walking by the nativity, there was a bonfire with cocoa and cookies, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. Then we came home and read The Crippled Lamb by Max Lucado, a great read if you are looking for a sweet story about the birth of Jesus.
