The Great Pumpkin Party

We hosted a little pumpkin party for some of our friends from school, soccer, skating, and other areas of our life at our house last Sunday.  (If you read the previous post about me staying home to clean the house, now you know why! :)  The Molepske family joined in to help us put on this fun little shin-dig, and it was a blast! We spent the first part of the party outside in the backyard, where we provided lots of tools and patterns to create some fun jack-o-lanterns.  Then, everyone headed inside to enjoy some yummy eats...pulled pork, baked beans, corn/wild rice chowder, and treats galore! I didn't take nearly enough pictures as I was way too busy running around playing hostess, but the party was definitely a success and a fun way to get ready for Halloween!! :)

luke and andy get to work on their pumpkin while oliver and stella look on from some comfy chairs
eloise is checking out the tub of guts while mike works on the family pumpkin
lots of carving going on! (little addie is totally eating pumpkin seeds out of that tub!)
eyeball cupcakes--grotesque but good!

the smith family pumpkin...we tried to keep it inside this week so the squirrels wouldn't eat it, but it completely rotted and we had to throw it out today.  boo! :(  at least it had a little moment to shine.
