In the past month:
Callan is now up every flight of stairs he sees. I can't keep him away from them! Our living room stairs don't have walls that allow a gate to fit, so we have to come up with creative alternatives, like two laundry baskets filled with clothes, which he somehow pushed out of the way with no problem! Since then, I've resorted to stuffing the back cushion from our big leather chair on the first step. It works for the most part, but he still manages to discover when the cushion is pushed out of the way, as you'll witness below.
In addition to stair climbing, Callan is now pushing his lion walking toy all over the house while using his two feet to take little steps. He is SO proud of himself and starts smiling and shrieking when he takes off!
He is also communicating a ton and trying to mimic words and sounds that he hears. He can wave and say "bye bye" and last week started using "ma ma" when wanting me. I love it! He also attempts to say the word "hot" when I put food on his tray at mealtimes, and he likes to try to mimic the "vroom" and "choo choo" sounds that I make when playing with cars.
The cutest trick this month is his "cheese face." It's this adorable little grin that he makes when he is being silly, and it truly shows him at his happiest little self. You can't really predict when he'll do it, so it's hard to capture it on film, but I'll keep trying. It is so fun to watch our sweet baby boy growing up!
