Mr. Callan turned 8 weeks old on Tuesday, and I am in denial at how fast he is growing!! Next week, we'll check his stats once again and find out for sure, but I'm guessing he's around 11 pounds already. He's turning into a big guy already--hmmm, makes me wonder if I'll go for round #4 just to have another cuddly newborn to love on?! :)
So, what's the little goober up to? Well, he is busy doing what pretty much any other tiny young one does at this age--lots of sleeping, nursing, and pooping! Now that he's started smiling and cooing, it makes our interactions so much more fun! He spends a lot of time in his swing, which I endlessly feel guilty about, but with two other kids and endless mommy chores to keep up with, I can't hold him all day! The good news is that it's right in the center of all the action, so he doesn't miss anything, and he loves it and sleeps so well in it. Just this week we caught him checking himself out in the mirror that hangs above the seat. He's very interested in that little person looking back at him, and it's really cute to watch him kick his legs and wave his arms in excitement!
Little Callan also loves his bath. He totally relaxes and just chills out in the tub. Bathtime is usually followed by a little massage with some lavender lotion, which he also loves! Last night Brody, Leyton, and I all massaged him after his bath, and he was in heaven! Who could ask for more than that?
He's nursing every three hours, and usually goes to bed at around 8. He has been waking up consistently at 2 and 5 for feedings since he was just a few days old. I can't complain about that schedule! It has been a lot easier than nights with Leyton! Right now, he sleeps in his little cradle by our bed, but I usually bring him into bed with me at his five o'clock feeding and snuggle until it's time to get up. He's a good little snuggler and just settles in right next to me!
Callan's older brothers still adore him, and I am surprised and thankful at how easy the transition has been for all of us. B & L have far surpassed my expectations, and I am proud of them for being such great big brothers! I think the third kid has no choice but to go with the flow. Callan definitely has a voice and is not afraid to use it, but he is quite an easy and easygoing little guy so far! Lucky us!

OH I just love him! Makes me want a 3rd for sure, but that would require some hubby buy-in! HAH! Glad he's a great babe for ya!
