Strawberry Fields
On Sunday the Smith family decided to venture out to Apple Jack Orchards for a little strawberry picking.  The strawberry season is just winding down here in Minnesota, and it's just about time for raspberry and blueberry picking. However, there were still lots of juicy red strawberries to be found on Sunday, and it was quite a fun time! Apple Jack Orchards is a cute little farm out in Delano, about 45 minutes from our house, with a large orchard, strawberry patch, restaurant, and antique shop.  When we arrived, Brody immediately noticed the cow train and wanted to take a ride.  He looked so cute in the last little car on the train!

After his ride, we had a nice picnic and then began our hunt for strawberries.  Brody had SO much fun finding the ripe berries and putting them in our basket.  He kept holding them up for us to see.

We picked for about 45 minutes and then decided we had enough to last for awhile, so we headed over to the restaurant where they were serving huge ice cream sundaes with fresh strawberries and whipped cream!  The farm was so cute and the people running it were very nice.  I have a feeling we'll be back in the fall when the apples are ready for pickin'.  As for now, all four Smiths have really enjoyed our strawberries this week--you just can't beat freshly picked fruit!
