Lovin' the Summer
Summer is in full swing around here, and every day brings a new adventure, making me feel so lucky and blessed to get the opportunity to stay home with my babies.  Many days I feel guilty that I get to have all the fun while Brad has to slave away at work all day and into the night, especially the last couple of weeks--his hours have been ridiculous!  But, we both agree that the sacrifices we have to make in order for me to do this are worth it.  And, I definitely loved it when Brad asked Brody the other day if he wanted me to stay home or go to work, and Brody said, "Stay home and play with me, Mommy!"

Ok, I'll admit it.  Every moment of every day is not always a barrel of laughs.  I certainly have my share of stress, frustration, and utter chaos built into every day.  However, I wouldn't change it for the world.  I really am so lucky and I just have to send a shout out to my husband for being such a dedicated provider for our family.  We love you and appreciate all you do for us!

Now on to some updates.  Leyton had his nine-month appointment last week with Dr. Bodine. It went well with no concerns or worries.  Leyton is developing nicely both physically and socially, and he seems to be right on track with all his milestones.  I couldn't believe it when he only weighed in at 19 pounds, 8 ounces, putting him in the 30th percentile!  What a little peanut.  The gap keeps getting wider and wider between his weight and where Brody was at the same age--Brody already weighed 22 pounds when he was nine months old!  It's even harder to believe when you see what a little eater Leyton has become!  He loves to chow down on just about anything we give him.  Last week we added cut-up blueberries, raspberries, pasta w/marinara sauce, goldfish crackers, rice, pancakes, and vanilla wafers to his diet.  All were happily received and consumed to the last crumb!

Here are some pics of the little man doing one of his favorite things--eating!

Leyton also started pulling up last week!  Yikes--one step closer to walking!  The first time he did it was while I was running the bath water.  Brody was already in the tub, and Leyton wanted to see what was going on, so he just crawled right over and pulled himself up on the edge of the tub.  The next day, I sat him on the sidewalk at the bottom of the front steps of our house.  I turned around briefly and when I looked back at him, he was sitting on the bottom step!  I couldn't believe it!  Now he's pulling up on anything he can, and anytime he sees stairs, he heads straight for them and tries to climb.  I am SO in for it!

Ha!  Look what I can do!

Guilty as charged

You don't tell Mom I took the whisk and I won't tell her that you snuck downstairs and ate all the Skittles when she wasn't looking.
