Brody's New Year's Resolution...to start a new playground fashion trend. You should have seen Brad's face when he caught a glimpse of this outfit, especially when he saw the purse! :)
Brody managed to stay up until well after midnight and was the last kid standing at Patty and Pete's New Year's Eve Party. (These pictures were taken right around midnight. I think he was delirious!)
The following morning, I was up bright and early to get our New Year's Day Dinner cooking. As you may know, black eyed peas are supposed to bring good luck for the coming year, so they have been a must in our family for quite some time. Well, we must not have eaten ours fast enough. As I was slicing an onion with my brand new mandolin slicer, my pinkie accidentally got in the way and before I knew it, I had a huge mess on my hands. It was not a fun way to start a new year. Although I'm almost certain I needed stitches, we attempted to handle it ourselves at home to prevent spending half a day in the ER. We'll see how the scar turns out. :( After all that work, the black eyed peas tasted awful. Mom, please send your recipe my way because I apparently need some lessons in the kitchen, in more ways than one.
The next day, we spent some time at The Mall of America and took Brody on his first amusement park rides. He loved them! I guess we'll be doing more of that in the next few months as it is so darn cold here you can barely stand it outside for more than a few minutes at a time. Nickelodeon Universe, here we come!
