I can't wait for Thursday. Aunt Kelli is coming to visit!! We are going to Grandma and Grandpa Smith's house for a yummy Thanksgiving meal and some Texas football. I also can't wait for Friday. Grandaddy, Grandma, Aunt Allyson, Aunt Bethany, and Oma are coming to visit!! On Sunday, baby Leyton will be christened and we'll celebrate with a family brunch at our house. We have much to be thankful for! It is going to be a whirlwind weekend, but I am so excited to share it with our family.
Things are going great around here. The boys continue to melt my heart daily with their beautiful smiles, "I love you Mommy"'s and sweet cuddles. I swear Brody has grown probably two inches in the past month and he is just talking up a storm. He loves to play pretend and is constantly whipping up "cupcakes" or "soup" with his pots and pans or having a dialogue between his crazy talking zebra and the fireman, while they all ride on top of the tractor to some unknown destination. His imagination is quite vivid, and now I notice that he is also expressing fear more regularly. Sometimes he'll tell me that there is a ghost in the window (he got this from one of his Halloween storybooks and is quite fixated on it) and yesterday he ran up from the basement playroom because he said there was an owl down there. He is both terrified of and enthralled by the big bad wolf. Last week we had the last few minutes of Ugly Betty on TV while I was waiting for Grey's to start. He took one look at Betty on the TV screen and said, "What's that gril? That's a bad man gril. I don't like her. Turn it off."
Leyton is growing like a little weed, too, and could quite possibly be the sweetest little baby around. When I talk to him, he breaks into the biggest baby grin and starts cooing at me. I can barely take my eyes off him to do other things, so some days I just don't. He is starting to enjoy his bath and baby massage that follows, and he really loves to be naked. He just kicks and punches in the air and flashes his little grin at me while I get him dressed. He also loves to watch his big brother and can't wait for the day when he can play with that crazy talking zebra, too. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
